Timothy Hughes was born in Madison, Wisconsin and received his B.S. in Art from UW-Madison in 1997. For the next eight years, he worked for the Onion in advertising, while training graphic designers in New
York, San Francisco, Minneapolis, and Milwaukee. In 2005, he the left the position to pursue travel, and fine art photography.

Currently, he focuses on gallery work but also takes on advertising, stock, and editorial photography assignments. Some of his clients include: Simon & Schuster, Cherry Pop Burlesque, Isthmus, Superbitch
Magazine, Alufem Magazine (Milan), the Onion, Coreweekly, and fatalbeauty.com.

"Shooting fashion is definitely one of my favorite pastimes and I love working outdoors with natural light. I tend to favor shiny things that have straps, buckles, chains, and lots of laces. My only goal for shoots is to make the sexiest images as I possibly can. Edged weapons and martial arts gear is often incorporated into my photographs. I try to portray a sense of danger and give the models a commanding, idealistic-quality. Even if the scene is surreal, I strive to make the model looking strong, believable, and in her element."
