INEVITABLE SILENCE
Year: 2022
A Movie by Marc Blackie
Synopsis
An (ironically) dreamlike and sexually charged meditative exercise for despondent insomniacs, Inevtibable Silence is the most recent work from English Director Marc Blackie, whose work has been described as “Jarringly combining eroticism with the uncomfortable and sinister” by the New York Magazine.
Structured around a cynical parody of a sleep hypnosis narration, that decides to choke rather than comfort, the multi-performer film is intricately layered with a range of erotic vignettes themed on the great task of obtaining unconsciousness and the things some may attempt to lead them there.
Featuring:
Alénee Aisha, Sophie Anderson, Xenia Black, Jessica Drew, Lexi Doll, Lolly Lightning, Gemma Kahlua, Sweet Séverine, Sorserez, Ada La Venom and introducing 空気人形
About
Having something of a troubled relationship with unconsciousness, writer/director Marc Blackie wrote the text that would become the foundation for Inevitable Silence during a dark and possibly stormy night. Dreamy oblivion proving once again elusive, a sleep hypnosis session was listened to for all of at least two minutes, before the asinine content of the piece drove the would-be somnambulist into an indignant rage. Words were hastily scratched onto paper, the words that would go on to form the bulk of the film and a series of small darkly erotic scenes shot to compliment this indignant fury.
The film was shot during the 2020/2021 lockdowns, with the director traveling the country to shoot in the performer’s own bedrooms, restrictions occasionally being damned for the sake of the project.
Director Biography
Marc Blackie is an award-winning English photographer and filmmaker, whose short films and images inhabit a world of sexually charged existentialism and have been described as “A nihilistic and often disturbing take on the erotic imagination, as shot through the lens of Bergman or Lynch”.
“Brilliant surrealist work which exploits and examines the iconography of eroticism, full of introverted beauty and a vein of very black humor underpinning a variety of sexual hang-ups. Exceptional and inspirational.”
